Digital Biology Lab is proud to announce that Govardhan Ramesh Khadakkar, a Master’s student in Computer Science and a valued member of our lab, has been recognized as the Outstanding Master’s Student in EECS for 2025. Govardhan joined our lab as a volunteer in Fall 2023, transitioned to an hourly role in Spring 2024, and is currently a Graduate Research Assistant. Under the guidance of Dr. Dong Xu, he has made significant contributions to key projects like P3DB and Fatplants, developing APIs, analyzing data, and supporting infrastructure setup. He is also a co-author of a forthcoming publication on P3DB.

In addition to his academic achievements, Govardhan completed a Data Science Internship at Siemens Healthineers in Summer 2024, where he improved a workforce planning model using advanced data analysis techniques. He also actively participates in campus activities, serving as Treasurer for UFWH and contributing to EECSGSA events. Recently, he was part of the team that won 2nd place at the MUIDSI Hackathon 2025 for VisionAI, an AI-based emergency assistant for the visually impaired.

We congratulate Govardhan on his well-deserved recognition and look forward to his continued success. For more information about the Digital Biology Lab and our projects, please visit https://digbio.github.io.
